Nestled in the heart of Kenya’s fertile coffee-growing highlands, Kangunyu Coffee Factory stands as a testament to quality, sustainability and female leadership in an industry traditionally dominated by men.

Under the stewardship of Magdalene Mwangi, the factory has flourished, producing some of the finest natural coffees while empowering local farmers and setting new standards for excellence. The factory not only focuses on quality but also champions fair trade, environmental stewardship and farmer education, particularly supporting women in coffee farming.

With more than 600 smallholder producers organized around the factory, it serves as a pillar of economic empowerment and sustainable farming practices. Every cup brewed from its beans tells a story of resilience, dedication, and the transformative power of women in leadership.

This lot is a natural process, meaning the whole coffee cherries are dried before milling. Naturals are less commonly known in Kenyan specialty coffee as the country primarily produces washed coffees.

In this lot, sweet and spicy combine with notes of peach tea, papaya, and a white pepper finish.
